Chapter 40

Dear Diary,

We are back on a roller coaster! I decided to take med leave mid March and as now my disability still hasn’t been approved by the state aka I literally have zero income…and to make it even more interesting Jimmy was laid off and today was his last day.

THANK GOD he was able to made his term date 5/1 so we’re able to keep our medical insurance until the end of May. I’m so annoyed, I just hit my out of pocket max and now everything for the rest of the year would be free…but since we’re losing coverage I’m gonna have to reach a deductible again whenever one of us finds a new role.

Tomorrow is the 3rd surgery in 3 years…first 2021 was the bilateral mastectomy and recon, last year was the fat grafting and tomorrow we’re going to do a hysteroscopy. Basically it’s a colonoscopy for my uterus. We will dilate my cervix and insert a camera and remove any polyps and look for fibroids or anything that could be the cause of my abnormal bleeding. Hopefully it all goes smoothly and there aren’t any complications with the procedure or after. That’s really what I’m worried about. I’m hoping I don’t have another crazy period where I need more blood…if it happens after May I’m fucked. COBRA is extremely cost prohibitive $1400/month! And I tried looking into private insurance that’s $1300/month and I also looked at Covered California and we would get a “discounted” rate of $1200/month. Insurance is so freakin expensive. Anyway….in other news the SI joint pain I’ve been experiencing since last year is finally starting to go away. Physical therapy has been so great in relieving all my aches and pains. Actual therapy is also going well. Overall I’m feeling much better and happier all things considered. My physical and mental health are much better and improving daily. I still need to work on conditioning my body because I have been out of commission and have no endurance. Hopefully this time next year I’ll be able to hike without feeling like I’m going to pass out or super fatigued.

This has been a fun week, last Saturday my mom and I went to Point Reyes with Kimchi and enjoyed a fabulous lunch and walk. Monday the twins and I took Kimchi to Carmel and the Driscoll farm. The twins had so much fun and Kimchi was still scared of the waves but this time he actually got to the shore. Tuesday we had a purity break with Ari and Emi. Big sissy started potty training and I’m so proud of her! She’s doing really well. Little sissy is so snuggly and looking more and more like her big bro every day.

Here’s to good vibes for tomorrow…G
