This domain is my gift to myself…some years my gifts to myself were extravagant…in 2017 I bought myself a car, in 2020 Jimmy and I bought a house…but this year…2021 I paid $48.80 so I could have this outlet. This little space where I share my soul. Who knew that for under $50 I would be able to buy one of the most satisfying purchases of my life?!
I want you to know that I am truly grateful. I have had another successful and eventful trip around the sun. I enjoyed my 36th year and while the last quarter of it wasn’t the most fun it was definitely the most memorable. Cheers to 37 and beyond!!!!
The biggest takeaway here is yes I have cancer but I’ve lived 36 really good years. I have been blessed with a strong family, stable relationships, a career that I enjoy. I have been able to pursue the things I want from life. Limitations have never been too great of an obstacle for me. I have never had anything truly catastrophic happen to me. Yes I have experienced loss and setbacks; those have all prepared me for what’s to come. My 37th year will be a challenge and the next few years probably won’t be the easiest but if this is the only real struggle I face in my lifetime I will take it. This is one tough year compared to hopefully a very long life.
To all of my family and friends who took the time to celebrate with me, greeted me or simply thought of me…thank you! From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate you. I know that I will be drawing from this endless well of support and care throughout this process. Thank you for your strength when I know I will need it. Thank you for making me laugh when I want to cry. Thank you for sharing your life with mine. I love you so much and I appreciate you more than you can ever imagine…-G
